Rosé all May!
They say April showers bring May flowers; while some think of roses, we think rosé. As the weather warms and patio season begins, there’s no better time to reach for a glass of this fresh, vibrant style.
Whether you're planning a patio lunch, a picnic, or a celebratory toast, explore our collection of rosé wines below and find your perfect pour for the season.
Classic Rosé
Our Classic Rosé is crafted primarily from Gamay grapes and offers a beautifully balanced profile. Aromas of rose petals lead into vibrant flavours of cherry and a hint of cranberry, creating a wine that is both refreshing and expressive.
Made using the maceration method, the juice spends three hours in contact with the skins before being gently pressed and fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks. This careful process preserves the wine’s delicate aromatics and crisp character with a beautiful pink hue.
Perfect Pairings:
When pairing with rosé think light, fresh, and flavourful:
- Sushi or sashimi for a clean, bright pairing that lets both the wine and fish shine
- Shrimp tacos with citrus and herbs, the acidity of the wine pairs beautifully with seafood and herbaceous flavours of tacos.
- Margherita pizza, an easy weeknight go to, this pizza's combination of tomato, basil, and fresh mozzarella echo the wine’s vibrant fruit profile.
Three of Hearts Rosé
Now part of the Henry of Pelham family, Three of Hearts Rosé brings a refined, Old World-inspired style to our portfolio. Crafted in the French vin gris tradition, the grapes are pressed immediately with minimal skin contact, resulting in its signature pale blush hue.
A blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, this wine is cool-fermented in stainless steel to preserve its elegance and freshness. The result is a delicate yet expressive rosé with subtle berry notes, a soft texture, and a clean, dry finish.
Perfect Pairings:
This is your go-to for effortless entertaining:
- Charcuterie boards with prosciutto, mild cheeses, and fresh fruit
- Grilled chicken with herbs, simple, savoury, and perfect for patio season.
- White cream pizza, the wine’s acidity cuts through richness of the cream.
Cuvée Catharine Rosé Brut
Our award-winning Cuvée Catharine Rosé Brut is a sparkling expression that brings both elegance and celebration to the table. Made from 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, this wine is crafted using the traditional method, with secondary fermentation in the bottle and 24 months of aging on the lees.
The result is a beautifully textured sparkling rosé with fine bubbles, notes of red berries, and a rounded, creamy finish.
Perfect Pairings:
Sparkling rosé opens up a whole new world of pairing possibilities:
- Soft, creamy cheeses like Brie or Camembert, where the bubbles cut through richness
- Vegetable-forward dishes like a gourmet veggie burger or grilled vegetables
- Spicy dishes like curry or Pad Thai; the slight fruitiness helps balance heat
Family Tree ‘Merry Widow’ Rosé
A much-anticipated seasonal release, the Family Tree ‘Merry Widow’ Rosé has returned, and we couldn’t be happier to see it back on shelves! Crafted primarily from Gamay and Merlot using the maceration method, this wine offers a vibrant strawberry-pink hue and a slightly fuller body.
On the palate, expect fresh red cherry, hints of tropical fruit, and a crisp, refreshing finish that makes it perfect for spring and early summer sipping.
Part of the Speck family story, each Family Tree wine carries a piece of our history. The “Merry Widow” herself was Catharine Smith. Living to the ripe old age of 44 yrs, 6 mths and 22 days, Catharine out-lived her philandering husband Henry. We imagine her doing a little dance after his 'sudden' passing, inspiring this wine's cheeky label.
Perfect Pairings:
A versatile wine that works from lunch to dinner:
- Ratatouille or tomato-based dishes, where acidity and fruit stay in harmony
- Seared scallops with lemon for a bright, elevated pairing
- A classic BLT; the wine’s freshness cuts through the richness of bacon beautifully
From still to sparkling, dry to delicately fruit-forward, our rosé wines are made for the season. Here’s to long weekends, sunny patios, and a glass of rosé in hand; cheers to May!
