Plan Your Day in

The Niagara Benchlands

Dine, hike, shop, drink local!

Planning a trip to the Niagara region this year? If you're looking for something off the beaten track, we recommend the Niagara Benchlands. Nestled between the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario, the Niagara Benchlands are sheltered from strong prevailing southwesterly winds. Combined with a high amount of unobstructed sunlight, this area warms early in the spring and maintains high daytime temperatures throughout the growing season. In addition to wineries, this region is home to a number of incredible small businesses, from cheese-mongers to bakeries and florists, the Niagara Benchlands are a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.
