Come Over October is a national campaign encouraging wine lovers to invite friends, colleagues, and family to “come over” during the month of October. The days are getting shorter and the weather is getting cooler, what better time to slow down, gather around the table, and share a bottle of wine with friends and family. We invite you to grab your favourite Henry of Pelham wine and invite those close to you to come over this October!
What is it?
Come Over October was created by wine writer Karen MacNeil in 2024. The idea was simple: encourage people to invite friends, family, and neighbours over during October to share wine, conversation and friendship. It celebrates wine's long-standing role as a communal beverage and encourages us to put down our devices, step away from the endless to-do lists, and enjoy each other's company.
And what better place to embrace the idea than Canada in October?
Here in Niagara, October is grape harvest season. The vineyards are buzzing, the leaves are changing and the bounty of Ontario is coming off the vine.
Celebrate VQA
Come Over October is also the perfect excuse to pour something local.
When you reach for a VQA wine, you are choosing a wine with a sense of place. For us, that means celebrating what grows right here in Niagara. This October, pick up a bottle of VQA, invite some friends over and let the wine get the conversation started.
Theme Nights
Come Over October doesn't need to be a large celebration. Life is busy and expensive enough already! Sometimes the best evenings are the ones that require very little planning. Here are a few ways to turn an ordinary October night into an occasion and the wines we suggest pairing them with.

Birthday party? Bridal shower? Business meeting? Be the host with the most.
Intimate spaces for special occasions
Henry of Pelham offers several spaces for formal and informal events and meetings, with room for up to 30 people. We've helped host anniversaries, office parties, showers, birthdays, annual general meetings and more. Our light-filled ballroom, which is also a beautiful gallery space featuring work from Canadian artists, is a bright venue for daytime events and an elegant room to host evening gatherings. Our barrel cellar is a cool retreat from the summer heat and cozy space for fall and winter events for smaller groups. Catering is available from the Coach House Café.
And with anything from Henry's wine list available to event organizers, the drinks are guaranteed to be crowd-pleasers.
