Our Tours – Daniel Speck
This year, we’re concentrating on the property’s very colourful history. We’ll explore the atmospheric building that has been in the Speck family for 150 years, as a tavern, inn, and now winery.
We’ll head into the vineyards and tour the Riesling Icewine vineyard. The making of Icewine is an exacting process and we’ll tell you why it’s such a nail-biting venture.
Next on the agenda: the barrel room and a tasting of barrel-aged wines. It’s all a lot of fun and it gives you an opportunity to ask lots of questions.
With the explosion of wineries and great dining a whole new dimension has been added to touring Niagara. This means that families can find activities to suit everybody.
Children are always very welcome at Henry of Pelham. On weekends, they might even get to meet up with the friendly horses (and their equally personable riders) who like to ramble through our vineyards.
The Coach House Café is a relaxed place to get a bite to eat or to purchase the makings of a very fine picnic. I suggest heading into nearby Short Hills Provincial Park and walking its scenic trails or driving into Port Dalhousie where a nickel(!) will buy a ride on the meticulously restored historic Carousel.
